Endosonographic staging of esophageal cancer: a review of literature results.

T Rösch1.

Abstract

A large body of literature has accumulated showing endoscopic ultrasonography to be highly accurate in the locoregional staging of esophageal cancer. Several special aspects and problems of EUS in this setting are also presented in the literature. This article reviews this body of information and presents data from endoscopic staging research.
