Abstract
The functional characterization of the many complex proteins expressed in the CNS is a daunting task. The development of nucleic acid amplification techniques has provided a powerful tool to tackle this challenging enterprise. Recently, these techniques have been successfully used to correlate the functional properties of various CNS proteins with their specific mRNA expression patterns in the brain.Mesh:
