Abstract
A full-length cDNA of a human type I hair keratin was isolated that encodes a protein of 416 amino acids. Northern blot analysis shows that the mRNA is present in human scalp but not in hairless skin. Based on sequence homology comparisons with the four known mouse type I hair keratins mHal-4 the keratin could be identified as the human hair keratin hHal.Entities:
