Abstract
False aneurysms of the femoral vessels are an important, but rare, complication after an intertrochanteric fracture of the femur. The diagnosis is usually delayed, because pain, a haematoma and unexplained anaemia are the nonspecific clinical signs. Early diagnosis by duplex and colour Doppler ultrasound is a good alternative to arteriography or magnetic resonance imaging.Entities:
