Abstract
Using a vacuum gauge we demonstrated that with less effort, the identical vacuum can be obtained using a 10-cc syringe as opposed to a 50-cc syringe. We recommend using a 20 cc syringe during transthoracic needle aspiration since the syringe is easier to handle and still allows sufficient vacuum to be developed, even if a small amount of air enters the syringe.Mesh:
