Evaluation of hyperechoic liver tumors in MHTS.

Y Kimura1, R Fukada, S Katagiri, Y Matsuda.

Abstract

Hepatocellular carcinoma (HCC) shares only a small proportion of hyperechoic liver tumors detected in MHTS and mimics hemangioma on ultrasonography (US). The precise diagnosis of HCC is hence difficult in MHTS, but presence or absence of underlying chronic liver disease and serum alfa-fetoprotein (AFP) titer might provide useful informations.
