Abstract
The authors administered the Tridimensional Personality Questionnaire (TPQ) on two occasions separated by more than 1 month to 30 patients with psychotic disorders to examine hypothesized relationships between affective symptomatology and the TPQ dimension Harm Avoidance. As predicted, changes in Harm Avoidance scores demonstrated a robust correlation with changes in depression ratings and a less robust association with changes in mania ratings. The TPQ dimensions Novelty Seeking and Reward Dependence demonstrated minimal associations with symptom measures. This study supports the hypothesis that Harm Avoidance scores are strongly associated with depression.Entities:
