Abstract
We present a review that considers the regulation of ovarian function by the ovarian renin-angiotensin system. Evidence is presented that shows the ovarian renin-angiotensin system can regulate normal ovarian function by paracrine and intracrine mechanisms. In addition, the complexity that is inherent in the renin-angiotensin system conferred by multiple biological angiotensin peptides and multiple receptors is discussed. Evidence that a dysfunctional OVRAS induces ovarian pathology such as polycystic ovarian disease is also presented.Entities:
