Upward gaze paralysis following unilateral pretectal infarction. Computerized tomography correlation.

M S Smith, J F Laguna.

Abstract

Sudden paralysis of upward gaze developed in a 47-year-old diabetic woman. Computerized tomographic scan and subsequent studies were consistent with a unilateral pretectal infarction. The mechanisms of upward gaze are discussed.
