Diffuse mucosal ganglioneuromatosis of the colon associated with adenocarcinoma.

Abstract

A case of diffuse (nonpolypoid) ganglioneuromatosis of the colon found in association with an adenocarcinoma is described. The virtual confinement of this process to the mucosa implies a mucosal origin. A possible relationship of this lesion to multiple endocrine neoplasia type 2b is briefly discussed.
