Abstract
Endometrial occurrence of haematogenic metastases of extragenital tumours is very rare. Abrasion was performed on a patient, aged 75 years, for postmenopausal haemorrhage. The presence of a pigmented malignant melanoma in the endometrium was histologically established as an unexpected result. A malignant melanoma in the skin of the patient's left cheek had been surgically removed and irradiated, two and a half years before. Death of the patient occurred two months later. Metastases were recorded post-mortem from almost all organs. Endometrial occurrence of malignant melanoma is considered a rare route of metastasis which entails severe danger to life.Entities:
