Abstract
From 1968 to 1978 in 195 test persons (53 males, 142 females) the longitudinal behaviour of the serum uric acid was examined by regular estimation. Independent on age, sex and body weight the concentration of uric acid significantly increased in the course of 10 years. As causes are discussed influences of nutrition, problems of physical and mental activity, therapeutic measures and medicaments as well as hormonal change. Change of the relative weight and level of uric acid did not correlate together. Developmental tendency of serum cholesterol and uric acid showed a negative correlation in younger men and a positive one in older men.Entities:
