Abstract
Polymorphonuclear leukocytes infiltrate tissues in response to an inflammatory stimulus to remove invading microorganisms and cell debris. We present eivdence that these scaveging cells have another, more sophisticated role in that they are involved in the control of fluid efflux through the blood vessel wall which leads to tissue oedema.Entities:
