Observation of quantal release of noradrenaline from vascular smooth muscles in potassium-free solution.

H Suzuki, H Kuriyama.

Abstract

In the electrophysiological studies of the smooth muscle cell of the mesenteric artery, we observed a massive release of noradrenaline from nerve terminals in K-free solution. The nature of K-free induced contraction is discussed in relation to the generation of miniature excitatory junction potentials and drug actions.
