A review of the genus Dendritobilharzia Skrjabin and Zakharow 1920 (Trematoda: Schistosomatidae).

F J Vande Vusse.

Abstract

An historical review, the geographical distribution, and a list of known hosts for the genus Dendritobilharzia Skrjabin and Zakharow 1920 are presented. Nine new host records are included. Dendritobilharzia loossi Skrjabin 1924 and D. anatinarum Cheatum 1941 are considered synonyms of D. pulverulenta (Braun 1901) Skrjabin 1924, and D. asiatica Mehra 1940 a species inquirenda. Subfamilial, generic, and specific diagnoses are revised.
