Abstract
The healing of artificial one defects in the region of sinus frontalis and or parietale following implantation of tricalciumphosphate sheets was controlled in animal experiments. After 8 weeks, the implants were in direct bone contact without any demarcation of soft tissue structures. The tunica mucosa of the frontal sinus covered the ceramic sheet totally. Comparable results on the bone-contacting side of the implant have never been demonstrated before by other biomaterials like metal, acrylate, or aluminiumoxide ceramics.Entities:
