Abstract
The case of a young man with a 4-year history of increasingly severe exophthalmos and no other symptoms is reported. The radiological investigations showed a space-occupying lesion at the level of the roof and medial wall of the right orbit with involvement of the lesser wing of the sphenoid. A tumor within the diploë of the orbital roof without intracranial or intraocular involvement was removed and, on histological examination, proved to be a meningioma. Possible starting-points are discussed in the light of the literature consulted, but in view of the clinical, X-ray and operating data, it is concluded that the tumor is an intraosseous ectopic meningioma.Entities:
