[The measurement of testosterone content of blood stains for the criminalistic determination of sex (author's transl)].

J Szendrényi, V Földes.

Abstract

The authors have examined the testosterone content of the blood samples from 32 women and 24 men by a radio-immunoassay technique in order to prove the method to be suitable to determine the sex from blood stains in criminalistical investigations or not. Based on the analysis of the results the testosterone determination can reliably be used to decide whether the blood stain was of female or male origin if the concentration is referred to the protein content.
