The use of ultrasound in the diagnosis of a large thymic cyst.

M G Rudick, B P Wood.

Abstract

Ultrasound is very useful in the assessment of anterior mediastinal masses in childhood. In this case knowledge of the completely cystic nature of the mass and its finely septated nature not only aided in the diagnosis but also in the surgical removal of an extremely large thymic cyst.
