[Trigger mechanisms for cell division in vivo].

A G Malenkov, L A Radkevich.

Abstract

A model of stimulating liver regeneration by temporary ligation of selected branches of the hepatic blood vessels was developed in the experiments on rats. For initiating compensatory hypertrophy of the liver it is necessary to compress the portal vessels of the left hepatic lobes up to 20--22 hours, that is until the cells entry into the S-phase. A suggestion was put forward about the differences of stimulation of cell division in the in vivo and in vitro systems.
