Egg drop syndrome 76 in Nigeria: serological evidence in commercial farms.

D R Nawathe, A Abegunde.

Abstract

A serological survey for egg drop syndrome 76 (EDS 76) virus, using the haemagglutination inhibition test, was conducted on commercial poultry flocks in Nigeria. Antibody was detected in layers on most of the farms. EDS 76 poses a potential threat to the Nigerian poultry industry and possible means of prevention and control are discussed.
