Fulminant wound infection with Aeromonas hydrophila.

G S Deepe, J D Coonrod.

Abstract

Aeromonas hydrophila was isolated from a water-soaked traumatic wound of a previously healthy 16-year-old boy. A progressive necrotizing infection developed despite administration of antibiotics. Aeromonas should be considered in wound infections which are water-related.
