Abstract
Amongst the chronic hepatic disorders in India, the cirrhosis of liver is common and its etiopathogenesis which is largly poorly understood, is a variance, to that of the West. During last two decades, several studies have been undertaken to study the small bowel status in hepatic disorders, particularly in the alcoholic cirrhosis). Similar studies on the tropical hepatic cirrhosis are few). It is likely that various intestinal infestation may be playing some role in its causation.
