Cancer experience in Florida: a suggestion of lowered risk.

T E Aldrich, J E Healey.

Abstract

The state of Florida has the highest crude incidence rate of cancer in the United States. When age adjusted, however, this rate falls close to or below the national mean. The authors analyzed 14,369 new cancer cases for 1977 and noted a major difference in the proportion of digestive tract cancers. The possibility of a protective factor in Florida is suggested.
