Abstract
A case is described of acute defibrination following blunt head injury in a patient with a Spitz-Holter drain. The cause of the disseminated intravascular coagulation is thought to be due to brain thromboplastins entering the systemic circulation through the Spitz-Holter drain, thus bypassing the blood-brain barrier.Entities:
