Abstract
The article reports on the measurement of static compression during the consolidation phase of tibia osteotomies in sheep. Nail-fixed and wire-fixed compression and distraction devices were used for external stabilization. During the 8-week study period, the magnitude of the interfragmentary pressure and its changes were measured via pressure meter units. The links between the extent of interfragmentary tension and the degree of stability of osteosynthesis, are explained, and attention is also drawn to the differences in the stability performance of the nail-fixed and wire-fixed compression and distraction devices used in the animal experiments.Entities:
