Bilateral ureteral obstruction secondary to massive fecal impaction.

R P Nelson, R Brugh.

Abstract

An adult paraplegic with bilateral ureteral obstruction secondary to fecal impaction is discussed. This and the 8 previously reported cases of urinary obstruction from impaction are reviewed regarding the patient's age, sex, associated disease, and anatomic factors relating to the urinary obstructive level. The relation between impaction and urinary obstruction and infection is emphasized.
