Ocular complications of lightning.

Abstract

A 17-year-old female suffered first and second degree facial burns due to a lightning bolt. Retinal stria were noted 48 hours after the accident and a retinal pigment epithelial defect was documented on the third day. A dense posterior subcapsular cataract was present by the 14th week.
