The mothering of twins, triplets and quadruplets.

The present investigation was stimulated by the steadily rising incidence of twins, triplets and quadruplets over the last few decades. It set out to obtain mothers' reported reactions when faced with the tidings of the arrival of multiple infants, and to study mothers' means of coping with and their ways of relating to these twins and "supertwins"--Scheinfeld's term for triplets, quadruplets, and quintuplets.
