Abstract
Sarcoptid mites identified as Trixacarus caviae (Acarina: Sarcoptidae) were found in skin scrapings taken from two pet guinea pigs with generalized skin lesions. Clinical signs included intense pruritus, widespread alopecia and hyperkeratosis. The lesions regressed following treatment with lime sulfur.Entities:
