Abstract
In 17 human brains of different sex and age it was demonstrated, for the first time, that there exist wide volumentric differences in the dorsal nucleus of the lateral geniculate body (minimal--66.6 mm3, maximal--152 mm3). It was also stated that the extreme variants mentioned above occur more seldom than the average ones and are mainly depended on changes in the grey substance volume. As there are no correlative differences between the volume of the lateral geniculate body and the brain weight, sex and age, it is possible to suggest that the optic center studied possesses some individual functional optic peculiarities to be investigated and clarified in future.Entities:
