Abstract
Acral lentiginous melanoma (ALM) is a relatively recent addition to the clinicohistopathologic classification of melanomas. This variant constitutes 7 to 9 percent of diagnosed melanomas and is typified by a lentiginous macule occurring on the palm, sole, or in subungual regions. A patient with ALM arising in the subungual area and a review of the relevant literature are presented herein.Entities:
