Characterization of ribosomal RNA from insect eqqs (Euscelis plebejus, Cicadina; Smittia spec., Chironomidae, Diptera).

Abstract

The molecular weights of ribosomal RNAs from eggs of 2 different insect species and of their mitochondrial rRNA were determined. By denaturating conditions, the 28 S rRNA from both insect eggs is converted to 18 S products.
