Monoclonal gammopathy in carcinoma of the colon.

H P Chen, J A Carroll.

Abstract

A patient with carcinoma of the colon had an IgG-kappa monoclonal peak. Within two years after surgical removal of the carcinoma, the monoclonal protein completely disappeared. Monoclonal gammopathy has been described in association with malignant diseases. The disappearance of the monoclonal protein is a response of the immune system to the underlying neoplasm.
