Abstract
There are examples of short-term prescreening tests for carcinogenicity that fail to agree with the results of animal bioassays. Factors which may lead to such discordant results are discussed in terms of the present understanding of the mechanisms of chemical carcinogenesis and the quality of the results obtained in vivo and in vitro.Entities:
