[Results of routine removal of ovaries and/or tubes as part of vaginal hysterectomy (author's transl)].

Abstract

Women of 48 years of age, who undergo a hysterectomy at the Ist Clinic of Gynecology and Obstetrics of the University in Vienna in addition get adnexectomied for prophylactic reasons. In younger patients only the tubes are removed. The results of 1472 hysterectomies show, that the vaginal route, which is chosen in 70% of all cases, leads in more than 95% to the satisfactory removal of tubes and ovaries without an increase of postoperative morbidity and mortality.
