Abstract
Twenty-eight consecutive cases of aphakic cystoid macular edema in 16 patients were treated with corticosteroid drops. Enough medication was used in each occurrence to achieve intraocular pressure elevation. This increases the hydrostatic pressure on the retina thereby decreasing retinal swelling pressure and reversing the cystoid macular edema. Visual acuity improved in each instance after resolution of the cystoid macular edema.Entities:
