Intravesical doxorubicin hydrochloride in the management of carcinoma in situ of the bladder.

Intravesical chemotherapy with doxorubicin hydrochloride was applied in 6 patients with flat carcinoma in situ. Tumor remission was obtained in 3 patients. Characteristic changes in cytological preparations as well as in histological specimens could be observed. The possible action of doxorubicin hydrochloride is discussed.
