Hyperthyroidism as a cause of persistent choreic movements.

P J Delwaide, J Schoenen.

Abstract

A patient is described who had thyrotoxicosis more than 30 years ago and suffers since that time from presistent choreic movements. This case suggests for the first time that chorea induced by hyperthyroidism may outlast the endocrine disorder and become irreversible.
