Abstract
Lateral flexion injuries of the cervical spine are rarely commented upon. Unfamiliarity with the mechanism of injury and the fact that this type of injury cannot be diagnosed on the lateral radiograph, contribute to the lack of attention paid to this entity. The mechanism of injury is described. Specific radiological features of the anteroposterior view of the cervical spine which facilitate diagnosis are discussed. These are widening of the uncovertebral joints and fractures of articular pillars, vertebral body and the transverse and uncinate processes.Entities:
