Abstract
Budding yeasts were present in the majority of cases of otitis externa examined. A reddish-brown, dry, waxy discharge was the typical exudate. A successful treatment of yeast-infected ears was multiple otic lavages using a combination of an aqueous solution of poloxamer-iodine and application of an antifungal-antibiotic-corticosteroids ointment.Entities:
