Ultrastructural identification of smooth muscle cells in the perisinusoidal space of a freshwater teleost liver.

A smooth muscle cell is described for the first time in the hepatic perisinusoidal spaces of a freshwater teleost. Although at this place the functional properties of this cell remain obscure, its relationship with collagen fibrils is discussed.
