Radionuclide imaging in the diagnosis of liver trauma.

Thirty-three consecutive patients were examined on the clinical suspicion of traumatic rupture of the liver. In 13 patients liver rupture or liver haematoma was found on scintigraphy. In 5 of these patients the scintigraphic observation was verified by surgery. In two of these patients rupture of the spleen was suspected by the clinician, but rupture of the liver was found instead.
