N Chandrasekaran, A Kamalam, A S Thambiah.

Abstract

Tinea capitis due to Trichophyton violaceum was seen in 34% of 157 Anglo-Indian female children at Madras. The common age group and the class affected were between 10 and 15 years and 6th and 7th standards. A proportionally higher number of children were present in this group. T. violaceum infection in areas other than the scalp was negligible.
