The weekend--a dangerous time to be born?

R A Hendry.

Abstract

Analysis of all births occurring in Tayside during the years 1974-1978 inclusive showed that there was a significantly small number of births on Sundays than any other day of the week. The babies born on Sundays were more at risk of dying during or after birth. The reasons for this are multiple and difficult to ascertain.
