[Study of "in vitro" susceptibility of "Mycobacterium fortuitum" to aminoglycoside and beta-lactam antibiotics (author's transl)].

M Casal, F Rodriguez.

Abstract

A study was made of the in vitro susceptibility of 39 strains of Mycobacterium fortuitum to 14 beta-lactamins and 11 aminoglycosides using disc diffusion techniques on Mueller-Hinton agar plates. Amikacin, lividomycin, neomycin and kanamycin inhibited clearly all the strains, while penicillins, cephalosporins and streptomycin proved inactive. In addition, other tested aminoglycosides inhibited poorly all the strains.
