Endoscopic removal of sharp foreign objects using an oversleeve.

We describe a method for the endoscopic removal of sharp foreign objects from the stomach using a plastic oversleeve. This sleeve allows repeated passage of the endoscope without discomfort and minimizes the risk of the foreign body causing damage to the mucosa or of its being dislodged from the grasping forceps as it is withdrawn.
