Simultaneous dislocation of the interphalangeal and metacarpo-phalangeal joints in a thumb.

D K Cleak.

Abstract

Dislocation of more than one joint in a digit is a rare injury. Although several case studies have appeared describing multiple interphalangeal dislocations in fingers (Ikpeme, 1977; Nathan, 1973 and Weseley, 1978), no report of interphalangeal and metacarpo-phalangeal dislocations in the same thumb has been published.
