Abstract
The rate of metabolism of low-sulfated chondroitin 4-sulfate, a predominant glycosaminoglycan in blood, has been studied by administering intraperitoneally radioactive hexosamine and/or sulfate to rats. The biological half-life of the material was estimated to be 10--12 h, suggesting that the metabolic process of blood low-sulfated chondroitin sulfate is different from that of glycosaminoglycans in the tissue.Entities:
