Abstract
A case of an uncommon lesion of the pancreas in a 67-year-old woman is reported. Microscopically, the salient features of this lesion are a dense infiltration of the pancreas by lymphocytes and plasma cells, the presence of true lymphoid reaction centers, and fibrosis of parenchyma. The islets of Langerhans are not involved. The authors suggest the name "pancreatitis lymphomatosa" according to Hashimoto's throiditis lymphomatosa. The etiology and pathogenesis are unknown, an immunological reaction of antibodies to human pancreas is assumed.Entities:
